Summer into Fall
After returning from Eastern Europe in June, we've had a quiet summer and are well into autumn. Phil's niece Rachel Schmidt (Mrs. Matt Jabaily) and nephew Jason Jowers (Christine Whitemarsh) were married on successive weekends in July, Rachel and Matt in Loveland CO and Jason and Chris in St. Paul, MN. Both weddings were lots of fun plus a great opportunity to get together with family. The first picture shows the cousins who attended Rachel's wedding (including Sophie). Next are the cousins at Jason's wedding and the third are Phil's cousins, serenading the newlyweds, Jason and Chris.

We also had a nice visit in July with Jack and Vivian Farbak and their grandkids. We met them at the KY Horse Park near Lexington, then came back to our house.
We've been spending lots of time with the little girls - Annie, Gabby, and Sophie. They are all walking now and their understanding of the world around them seems to grow each week. They are beginning to understand simple play and really enjoy repeating activities over and over. Here are some recent pictures. First, Kristen with Sophie and Annie, next Gabby, and finally one of all three.

Phil and Gabby had a great time at the pony ride at NKU's annual picnic, held in August right before the beginning of school.
Next Wednesday we leave for a brief trip to England. We'll be visiting friends Barbara and Doug Faires while Barbara is teaching in Westminster College's Overseas term in Oxford. We plan to spend several days in London, the Cotswolds, and neighboring evirons and take a two day trip to Paris. We'll try to keep you up-to-date on our travels.
