End of October

Near the end of October, we had a wonderful return visit with Juan Vanegas and his friend and colleague Camilo Diaz. They were doing some business development for a Columbian company with a Cincinnati firm and spent a week with us as their work progressed. At the same time, Kristen and Dave were in South Africa, on a medical mission trip with their church, establishing an AIDs hospice in Malodi, one of the townships near Pretoria. The triplets were spending time with a variety of people - one with us, one with Dave's mom Jodeanne, and one with Phil's sister Kathy who was visiting from Michigan. Needless to say, this was an exciting time for all concerned. Luckily, we all had time to get together for trips to the Zoo and Halloween Trick-or-Treating, so a great time was had by all.

The girls also enjoyed their first Trick-or-Treat, participating in an activity at our church. Gabby discovered suckers and fell immediately in love with them and Annie enjoyed the pretzels. We all enjoyed Cincinnati Chili after the event. It's really great that Juan, an attorney in Bogota, and Camilo, an economic development consultant from Bogota have these connections with the Cincinnati area. We look forward to seeing them whenever they return to the States.
